Open Letter to Roger Simon

This is in response to an arrogant inane piece by Roger Simon of Politico titled " Why The Media Should Apologize"

Dear Roger:

Are you having your stroke in installments?
Have you gone daft?
Have you sipped some tainted kool aid?
Between you, Katie Couric, Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson, Nora McDonell, and a long list of MSM pundits & stars, I have to wonder if you’re all suffering from simultaneous synaptic misfires?

No one is angry at the media for asking legitimate questions asked about Sarah Palin.We understand that all potential Presidential and VP candidates are vetted by the media.

As they should be.

The problem in this case, is that MSM didn’t ask questions like:

Who is Sarah Palin? What is her record? Where does she stand on the issues? And is she is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency ? How well did John McCain know her before he selected her? How well did his campaign vet her? And was she his first choice?

until AFTER you indulged in a “bitch hunt” campaign started by the Daily Kos, and carried on by every slime ball Obama-loving, woman-hating, Hilary bashing, jihadi-supporting, terrorist sympathizing, bash-America left wing online blog, website, and MSM outlet.

You ALL made the National Inquirer seem worthy of a Nobel prize for journalistic integrity.

Days before the media, elite and otherwise, asked the real questions, you engaged in rampant disgusting and unoriginal attacks on Sarah Palin, her daughter Bristol, and her 5 month old down syndrome baby Trig; alleging that Trig was not Sarah’s child, but rather her grandchild, having been born to her daughter Bristol.

For all your collective intelligence, the media seems to have confused Sarah Palin with Wisteria Lane’s Bree Hodge. Not surprising considering that entertainment & news seem to have morphed into newstainment.

Comments like the one below from “special needs child rearing experts” like CNN's John Roberts regarding how the Alaska governor’s newborn son with Down’s syndrome might be affected if she were elected, were echoed throughout the left wing media.

“… Children with Down’s syndrome require an awful lot of attention. The role of Vice President, it seems to me, would take up an awful lot of her time, and it raises the issue of how much time will she have to dedicate to her newborn child?”

Of course if Sarah had been a man, no one in the media would have felt this kind of question was the hallmark of responsible journalism or a necessary part of the media vetting process.

Then there were all those very important questions about her husbands DUI of 22 yrs ago? And this is relevant how?

If the media thinks that her HUSBAND’s DUI is of any serious consequence and/or would somehow serve to prove that Palin is incapable of serving her country as VP or President, then I have five words for you:

Ted Kennedy. Mary Jo Kopechne. Chappaquiddick.
Oh, can I throw in 2 more words: VEHICULAR MANSLAUGHTER!

You write:

Sarah Palin wanted the media to report on her teenage son, Track, who enlisted in the Army on Sept. 11, 2007, and soon will deploy to Iraq.

Sarah Palin did not want the media to report on her teenage daughter, Bristol, who is pregnant and unmarried

Are you really so stupid as to walk down that road??

Sen. Biden wanted the media to report on his son Beau who will be deployed to Iraq on October 3rd.

Sen. Biden did not want the media to report on his 21 yr old daughter, Ashley, when she was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a police officer outside a Chicago bar .

That was referred to as a private family matter.

By the way: if we are to judge Sen Biden by the same standards the media and left wing liberals judged Gov. Palin, then Sen Biden's a bad parent, teaching our children to obey laws & respect authority isn't working, should be abandoned, and Sen.Biden cannot be ready for the Vice Presidency!
