John Edwards, Democrats and Iraq

John Edwards, like most Dems, believes that "we must engage directly with Iran in trying to resolve the sectarian violence in Iraq" .

On Meet The Press this morning, Edwards had this to say:

"Iran has an interest in Iraq not totally going chaotic - if you just think about Iran - it's true Iran has done some bad things - they provided supplies and equipment to Shia Militia -but they have been fairly supportive of the Shia led gov't in Iraq. So what is Iran's interest in this?
"

According to Edward's, Iran's first interest is in" not having 1 mill plus refugees coming across their western border", and that because they are a Shite dominated country in a larger Sunni dominated Middle East if this becomes a broader ME conflict, they are very much in the minority and "I can assure you they (Iran) understands that" .

Well, I can assure you, that this speaks to both his naivity and his ignorance . This kind of absurd misguided thinking runs prevalent in Dems running for Presidency in 2008 as well as those present today in Congress and the Senate- not to mention their constituents. The DEMS do not understand the convoluted mindset of the Iranian President and Mullahs, and the reality of the complex nature of this war on terror.

Let's listen to a man who DOES get it - NY Times journalist John Burns who has spent four years in Iraq and has a deep well connected list of Iraqi friends , both Sunni and Shia and deep connections with the Special Forces and the Military in Iraq.

Burns was recently interviewed on Charlie Rose:

Charlie Rose: If that kind of civil war is only preventable by the US presence there...then why isn't there any more more effort on the part of Iran and Syria and other surrounding countries to do something to help us. The catastrophe of us leaving will not only be a catastrophe for the Iraqi people, but it will also be a catastrophe for everyone who has one side or the other: the Iranians for the Shia - the Saudis for the Sunnis.

John Burns: "The temptation to comfound the great Satan, America, in Iraq appears to OVERIDE the kind of considerations you are speaking off... mainly the Iranian interest in stability in Iraq. This was something the US counted on heavily when the Shite gov't was first elected 18 months ago. The feeling was that with Iranian backed Shiite parties elected to run the Iraqi gov't - the Iranian gov't would see some interest in stabilizing the situation and helping the Shias who have finally come to power for the first time in 1300 years to finally stablize control of the situation. Yet, they haven't done that and more importantly US Military Intel tell us that Iran is not only feeding money and weapons to Shi militia groups which are feuding amongst themselves, but they are also feeding weapons to Sunni insurgent groups."

John Edwards, like most of the dems running for President, and like the DEMS in Congress, knows little of what he speaks when it comes to the most important political issue and the most important struggle any free and democratic society is now facing.

The Art Of War: Using The Media Elites

In an interview on NBC's Today Show on Friday morning, Dee Dee Myers, former press secretary to Ms.Clinton, when asked to comment on the MSM being under fire for their negative one sided coverage of the war in Iraq, replied that she believes the MSM's biased negative reporting of the war doesn't shape public opinion or perception.

BULLFUCKINGSHIT!!!

Is Dee Dee Myers really in denial or is she just spinning the truth to suit the liberal agenda she represents?

Let's see - ---- She went on to say that she feels there are plenty of non media sources available that when collectively read provide an"honest picture" of Iraq, then she goes on to identify the State Dept website ( the only other source she mentioned) and concludes by saying that the "honest picture" as painted by "all kinds of sources "is one of failure!

Sounds like the usual bullshit we've come to hear from liberals!

Our enemy, unlike Dee Dee and her fellow media elites, understands the basic principals of "The Art of War" as put forth by Sun Tzu : Don't bother to physically defeat the enemy- rather defeat the enemy's will.

This is what these terrorists are doing and they are using a very willing liberal Anti- Bush, Anti-War, Anti Victory, Pro-Insurgent media to do so. Since the media elites seem to be enamored with mass murdering terrorists and dictators, they are only too willing to report the beheadings, the casualities, and in the case of a certain Aussie journalist, Michael Ware, continously give voice to these terrorists (in his convulated delusional way of thinking, which represents the mindset of most media elites, Michael believes these terrorists are entitled to have a voice in the media and equates them with our military; he sees no difference between them and our troops).

Our media is giving these terrorists exactly what they want.A platform to help break the will of the American people.(i.e SHAPE public perception). By better understanding Sun Tzu's The Art of War, and by duping an all too willing MSM into aiding and abetting them, these terrorists succeed at their objective: To win this battle by breaking the will of Iraqi's and AMERICANS.

So far, the Iraqi's collective will have proven to be far stronger than these terrorists (or insurgents as some mistakenly chose to name them) expected, and so they continue to remain aggressively focused on demoralizing the will of Americans, and have been highly successful in forming a coalition with very amenable and willing Media and Hollywood liberal elites.

If Dee Dee Myers believes the medias biased negative reporting doesn't shape public opinion or perception, then she, like most of the media elites, is either in denial, spinning the truth, or nowhere near as smart as the terrorists.

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

So in war the way is to avoid what is strong and strike at what is weak.
Let me explain this in simple terms for our media intelligentsia:
Avoid what is strong ( Our Military) and strike at what is weak ( Liberal Americans "Will" or lack there off)

Disciplined and calm, to await the appearance of disorder and hubbub amongst the enemy:--This is the Art of Retaining Self Possession.

The appearance of disorder and hubbub(chaos) is what our media is constantly focusing their attention on while failing to recognise or choosing to ignore that over 80% of the country is stable, and the many achievements of our military combined with help from the Iraqi army. This constant focus on the appearance of disorder is exactly what the terrorists want our media to do, in order to help them break down the will of Americans.

A clever general, therefore, avoids an army when it's spirit is keen, but attacks it when it is sluggish:--This is the Art of Studying Moods.

So
our enemies understand that as long as the troops spirit is keen, as long as their collective will is strong, the terrorists LOSE. In order to help breakdown the will of our troops, they focus on using the media to destroy the will of the American public. When our will is sluggish, then the type of assinine debate put forth by DEMS and Liberals in Washington occurs - talk of troop withdrawals, talk of casualties(by the way 2000+ is the lowest casualities of ANY war todate) attacks upon the President and his decision to go to war, Zogby polls that are DELIBERATELY misleading, combined with polls conducted by liberal based institutes that are touted in the media and are either faulty or misleading: all this serves to create divisiveness which is THE ONLY way these terrorists can defeat us, and deny democracy in Iraq and by fiat in the Middle East. DIVIDE AND CONQUER. It is the ONLY way they can win. It is the ONLY way they can spread their fundamentalist agenda. And our media elites, are aiding them in doing so, by shaping public opinion, which in turn scares the shit out of Dems who so desperately want to win the 2008 election that they feed into and spread this divisiness and fear, aiding our enemy to defeat us, so that they(the Dems) can in turn defeat Republicans at the polls.

All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when we are far away, we must make him believe we are near. Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

The insurgents have managed to deceive the media and liberal elites; they have managed to feign widespread disorder, and in doing so, have made it easier for them to crush us; not militarily, that's impossible, but simply by breaking down the will of the people.
By playing on the fears and doubts already instilled in the hearts and minds of Democrats and liberal Americans- thanks to the relentless one sided coverage of the situation in the Iraq by the MSM - these terrorists are cleverly and somewhat effectively- preparing the battlefield to crush us.

The Actors and The Communists

I've written two posts, The Actor and The Mullahs, and The Actor and The Mullahs-Redux

There is a long tradition of Western intellectuals going abroad to sing the praises of revolutionaries in distant lands and finding in them the realization of their own intellectual hopes.

Hollywood has an history of supporting non democratic regimes - one need only to look back about 60 years ago, where many in the Hollywood community were card carrying communists who believed in the goodness of the Soviet Union.

Even the revelation of Stalin's crime elicited such ludicrous justification about how great it was the Soviet Union would admit the horrendous things they perpetuated.

Robert Fulford penned "Hollywood's False Martyrs" for the National Post in October in which he posits this question "Why did the Hollywood 300 become secret communists in the first place, and why did they later allow themselves to be manipulated by the party for the sake of anti-American propaganda?"

The answer may surprise you. 60 years later, things haven't changed all that much.

Do the Hollywood communists still matter, more than half a century after they faced HUAC? Absolutely. To this minute, their rewritten story distorts cultural history and colours the self-image of Hollywood leftists, making even the dullest among them feel like brave radicals and potential martyrs.

The Actor and The Mullahs: Redux

I was recently involved in a rather interesting discussion with a friend, about the use of military and political solutions in our war on terror.

The heart of the discussion centered on whether the belief, held by the Bush Administration, that American ideals should prevail in Iraq, and various other Arab states, was more wishful thinking than reality.

The mission to spread freedom throughout the world is a noble endeavor. Pres. Reagan understood the threat of communism in the same way as Pres. Bush understands the threat posed by jihadists. Communists and Islamist Jihadists both harbour contempt for individual liberty, and both share a propensity for mass murder in the name of a utopian future.

But, countered my friend, " the battle between communism and democracy was a conflict between two systems that in effect shared some fundamental suppositions". In truth, the Cold War was a struggle between two economic systems - capitalism and communism. Nonetheless, both systems, it could be argued, were committed to modernity. Jihadism is not.

While leftists, including my Hollywood elite friends, stage "anti war" protests, jihadists engage in their own "anti modernity"protests, which involve homicide bombers, killing of children and women, the kidnapping, torturing, and beheading of coalition members, local politicians and civilians and the annual "Death to Isreal, Death to America" protest rally.

The battle we face with jihadists is an idealogical battle between the' olive tree and the lexus", to use Thomas Friedman's analogy It is a battle between modernity and anti-modernity.

Perhaps this explains why the greater Muslim population, who find liberal secularist values and lifestyles an affront to their values, remain strangely silent when it comes to denouncing the actions of jihadists and supporting the journey to democracy and the march to modernity.

In that respect, the jihadists have a huge advantage in the battle to win the hearts and minds of Muslims around the world. While democracy is appealing to many Arabs, modernity, as represented by secularist America, is not.

My friends in Hollywood and MSM elites, would be wise to remember that truth as you continue to lend your support to mullahs and terrorists, in the form of "anti- war" protests, and the funding of ANSWER and Code Pink, while flaunting liberal lifestyles in movies, music, magazines and tv show.

You had also best remember that you too are the jihadists enemy, and they have sent you that message in no uncertain terms by banning "foreign films that promote secularism, feminism, drugs, alchohol use, and violence( the pot calling the kettle black) because these films, which are a reflection of our liberal secularist democratic freedom loving country, "damage and humilate eastern traditions and culture".

So it would appear that all the schmoozing and handshaking and "photo opping" which Sean Penn engaged in this summer with his mullah-buddies only served to prove how fucking stupid and naive he is, not to mention the rest of you who share his mindset. Looks like The Actor found out just how much The Mullahs hate Hollywood!

These "fighters" that are romanticized by Cindy Sheehan, the ACLU, ANSWER, Code Pink(o), the MSM, the Hollywood elites, and left wing moonbats, hate ALL Americans. And they don't give a damn about your shared hatred for Pres Bush because this isn't about our enemies hating Pres. Bush- it's about them hating the secularist lifestyle you value and it's about the hatred they harbour towards democracy, freedom and modernity.

In the few months since Sean Penn, actor turned jounalist, visited Iran; under the guise of covering the election but really aimed at proving that Iran was a benevolent country that loved Americans but hated Pres.Bush; Mr.Ahmadinejad, Iran's President, has not only banned secularist foreign films, called for Israel to be wiped off the map, and death to America,(a holdover from the days of Jimmy Carter) but he has also closed down fast food restaurants, targeted opposition newspapers, journalists, and bloggers for censorship, and required male city employees to grow beards. He has turned back all the modern reforms gained over the past few decades. His country also harbours and protects "fighters/insurgents/al-queda jihadists, three of whom are Bin Laden's sons!

I'm wondering why Sean Penn isn't holding a press conference to voice his protest over the suppression of freedom and art that Iran 's new theocracy is imposing. Or why Michael Moore isn't heading off to shoot "Celsius 10/06" aimed at exposing the injustices happening to liberals and moderate conservatives in Iran, or exposing Pres. Ahmadinejad for the terrorist that he is!

Why are liberals and the dimocrats continuing to spew their baseless bullshit vitriol at and about Pres.Bush while remaining silent about Pres.Ahmadinejad?

Why there are no protesters filling the streets of Europe and America demanding that freedom of press, freedom of expression, and women's rights be reinstated immediately in Iran?

This might be a good time to educate dimwit moonbat "anti-war" protesters as well as the MSM: No one is "pro war" but those of us that support our endeavors in Iraq, and the war on terror, are definately pro- democracy, pro- freedom, and pro-victory over those who want to kill to you along with the rest of us.

Welcome To The Suck

I was able to see an early viewing of "Jarhead", based on Anthony Swofford's autobiography of the same name and recently offered my thoughts on the film in the comments section of a few blogs.

Shortly thereafter, I received several emails asking if I would elaborate as to why I didn't like the film.

Let's start with Hollywood's new found lovefest with all things military EXCEPT our military.

I'm not easily fooled. Let's just say that years of working in "the biz"has left me acutely aware that anything Hollywood does is driven by the almighty dollar and a leftist agenda.

This industry, for the most part, has been vocal about its contempt for our military, our President, Republicans, and the War in Iraq. Collectively the elites lend financial support to leftist organizations like Code Pink(o) and ANSWER, and enjoy being seen in the company of Castro, Saddam, and assorted Mullahs.

The larger Hollywood community has done little to lend its support to our troups, our war on terror, and the families of those in harms way,This sudden emergence of films and tv shows about our Military seems a blantant attempt to cash in on the blood and sweat of deployed men and women who make huge sacrifices to protect us from scumbags who detest our freedoms, our way of life, and are hellbent on killing those of us they cannot subjucate.

Nonetheless, that has nothing to do with my opinion of "Jarhead".

I dislike the film because I disliked the book, alot. Compared to Evan Wright's "Generation Kill", Danjel Bout's milblog, and everything by Michael Yon, the book pales in its ability to leave one with a sense of what life is like in the sandbox, and doesn't offer us a glimpse into a Marine's inner landscape of confused emotions that lie between fear and bravado. It makes no difference that "Jarhead" takes place during the first Gulf War, the leftist agenda and negative perception of our military today permeates this movie, largely because Anthony Swofford has an axe to grind, and I can't figure out why, since He CHOSE to join the Marines.

I found nothing endearing about Anthony Swofford. Period! He is angry, dripping with attitude, disappointment, and cynicism. He isn't a grunt...he 's disgruntled!

In his book he writes " I hated being a Marine because more than all of the things in the world I wanted to be—smart, famous, oversexed, drunk, fucked, high, alone, famous, smart, known, understood, loved, forgiven, oversexed, drunk, high, smart, sexy—more than all of those things, I was a Marine. A jarhead.”

His contempt for the Corps combined with his desire to be famous, which is no doubt why he wrote the book, is distainful. All Tony wants is his 15 minutes of fame and he's got it. But he isn't worthy of the attention, nor of calling himself a Marine.

There are many other Marines whose personal narratives are far more compelling. Their commitment, leadership, courage under fire, and personal sacrifices are the highest example of what being a Marine truly is. Their accomplishments are many, and their stories should be put to film. Instead, we get "Jarhead" - about a messed up arrogant attention seeking jerk who happens to be a Marine sniper.

Under the pressure of war, Tony's tragic weaknesses are exposed, while his band of brothers are consumed with how their wives and girlfriends are being unfaithful, triggered no doubt by having watched a video tape of one guy's wife cheating on him.

What the film lacks in emotion and drama, it more than makes up for on the subject of masturbation! Left hand or right? I'm not oblivious to the reality that time spent in the sandbox is often "hurry up and wait" but there has to be a better way to have translated that boredom on screen.

I'll spare you the details of Anthony's voiceover in the opening, but it's a poetic monologue about a Marine's relationship to his gun; (no, not THAT gun!!) from holding a woman in his arms to changing a baby's diaper, his hands always operate from the muscle memory of holding a gun. While I'm certainly not in a position to know if this is true for every soldier and Marine, I greatly doubt it. Certainly the one I spent time with knew exactly how to hold me...and I assure you he never held a gun that way! The voiceover's covert message is that the humanity of a Marine is permanantly leached from him during bootcamp, turning him into a souless war monger.

Hardly true, but why not feed into the biased view liberals already harbour towards those who choose to join the military!?

I suspect "Jarhead" is meant to examine the mind numbing boredom and terror of war, instead it turns out to be mind numbing and boring. As for experiencing terror, milblogger's accounts of their daily experiences, and Michael Yon's "Gates of Fire" offer up evocative chilling moments of the terrifying realities of war far better than anything Sam Mendes attempts to deliver on screen.

You know a film is void of drama and good writing when it has to rely on its music soundtrack to strongly suggest how you should feel. Visually the movie is equally unimpressive.

Jake Gyllenhaal is the son of politically liberal, anti war director Stephen Gyllenhaal, and screenwriter Naomi Foner. His sister Maggie has been vocal about her thoughts on the war.
Jake says he was challenged in the making of this film, and admits that the experience changed him. "I started the movie with a judgement and opinion as anyone does who hasn't had any experience. But now I am not so sure. I think that's the point of Jarhead. It's not pro-or anti-war".

I respectfully disagree, Jake. There is an anti war subtext that runs through film, and an implicit recurrent message- "I don't like being a Marine..and neither will you".
.
"Jarhead" doesnt examine the challenges or celebrate the day to day courage that our Marines and soldiers face; its a 1hr and 55min insult to the men and women of the Marines Corps. The Marines are the Few and The Proud, these Marines are the few and the pathetic!

"Welcome to The Suck" - a great tagline that aptly describes this film.

Collective Memory Loss and Synaptic Misfires

Update 10/16/05

With Hilary Clinton making an OH SO FUCKING obvious bid to run in 2008, I thought I should bump this post I originally wrote Sept 9th 2005. Since she and Bill ran the White House as a "team" you can bet they would run it as a "team" should Hilary become elected! Since he will be HEAVILY featured in her campaign..so it might be a good time to look back fondly at his Presidency: Monica, impeachment, not accepting Sudan's offer to hand over Bin Laden, and.....

Iraq's Growing Threat

Saddam Hussein's continuing defiance of United Nations resolutions mandating inspection and dismantling of his weapons of mass destruction represents the most flagrant and protracted failure of President Clinton's foreign policy.

This was illuminated Thursday when Baghdad refused to accept even a diluted UN inspection commission 14 months after Saddam kicked out the original UNSCOM team under the conscientious Australian diplomat Richard Butler.

Since then Saddam has rebuilt facilities for his biological and chemical weapons programs as well as missile sites. Specialists suspect he has renewed production of anthrax, botulinum toxin and aflatoxin, and the organism that produces plague. Weapons inspectors and intelligence officials also have reason to fear that Iraq is working on even more sophisticated programs to develop viral agents for use as biological weapons.

In seven years, Clinton has tried to ignore, obscure, and misrepresent the threat from Saddam. Clinton's so-called containment policy has done nothing more than deter Saddam from invading his neighbors again. But that policy has not obliged the Iraqi despot to honor the UN's disarmament resolutions, has not protected the Iraqi people from the dictator's killers and tortures, and has not defended Americans against terrorists who may be acting with the veiled and deniable support of a vengeful Saddam.

While Clinton clings to his futile containment policy, seeking to avoid difficult decisions between now and the first Tuesday in November, the threat grows. Saddam's regime enriches itself with smuggling operations and by diverting money from the $10 billion in yearly oil sales allowed under the UN's oil-for-food program. And the common people of Iraq continue to suffer unspeakably from both sanctions and the dictatorship.

Saddam must be forced to permit weapons inspections or be removed from power. The failure to contain him should be a central issue in the current presidential campaign

This Editorial appeared in The Boston Globe, Feb 13th, 2000.
Boston: Home to Sen.Kerry and Sen.Kennedy.
Now we know where Kerry learned how to play the "flip flop" game.

It would appear that the MSM, the Democrats, the Hollywood fuckwits, all HUGE supporters of Bill Clinton, have collectively suffered from memory loss and some form of synapic misfire! Serious medical attention must surely be needed!!

It's interesting how The Boston Globe led the democratc assault against Pres. Bush for DOING exactly what they themselves CONDEMNED Clinton for NOT doing, based on the same information that that they insist Pres.Bush "lied about".

Liberals: Hypocrites - Liars - Cowards.

The Actor and The Mullahs

In the Sunday Boston Globe there appeared a must read insightful article called The Philosopher and The Ayatollah

Written by Wesley Yang, the article is about the French philosopher Michel Foucault, who, in 1978, "went to Iran as a novice journalist to report on the unfolding revolution. His dispatches — now fully available in translation — shed some light on the illusions of intellectuals in our own time."

Considering that Sean Penn, fuckwit turned journalist, is now in Tehran to cover the "election" for the San Francisco Chronicle, and that he and the Hollywood fuckwits he hangs out with have a propensity for supporting dictators, such as Castro, Saddam and now the Mullahs of Iran, the article seemed rather timely and relevant. Here are some excerpts:

There is a long tradition of Western intellectuals going abroad to sing the praises of revolutionaries in distant lands and finding in them the realization of their own intellectual hopes.

But the irony of Foucault's embrace of the Iranian Revolution was that the earlier intellectuals who had sung hymns to tyrants tended to share a set of beliefs in the kind of absolutes — Marxism, humanism, rationality — that Foucault had made it his life's work to overturn.

Anderson says that the debate over these 25- year-old writings has relevance when some leftists focus more energy on criticizing an administration they scorn than on speaking against a radical Islamist movement that also violates all their cherished ideals.

"It's not that radical Islamism is getting a pass from Western progressives and liberals, but it is the case that many are not being critical enough," says Anderson. When certain polemicists are spreading simplistic ideas about "Islamo-Fascism," he continues, "there's a tendency to say that this isn't so. But the fact is that while radical Islamism has many features and faces, everywhere it is antifeminist, everywhere it is authoritarian, and everywhere it is intolerant of other religions and other interpretations of Islam."

A recent article in the New York Sun talked about bombings that occurred this week in Iran, killing 8 people. The mullahs are trying to convince the world that the bombings are the work of "separatists".

A New York-based Iranian activist, Banafsheh Zand Bonazzi, said yesterday that she suspected the bombings were the work of the regime, with the goal of vilifying opposition movements and America. "The mullahs are using this to get regular Iranians to think the opposition is in favor of separatism," she said. "They are trying to vilify the regular anti-regime activists. The nature of the Iranian movement has never been about violence or terrorism or physical confrontation. This is why the activists have engaged in civil disobedience."

Banafsheh Zand Bonazzi and her husband Elio are both writers, activists and Middle East Pundits. I am privileged to call them both my friends. Banafsseh's dad is the father of Iranian cinema, and until recently, was a political prisoner in Iran.

In a soon to be published article for Front Page they posit some interesting questions and food for thought:

How come Mr. Penn did not show interest or was not approached by Global Exchange to visit Iran while the University Student massacres of 1999 was taking place and how come he wasn’t sent over when Iranian intellectuals, artists, filmmakers, journalists, etc. were being assassinated and when our women were being sold in advertised sex-slave auctions in the Persian Gulf nations?

(Apparently Global Exchange had the audacity to respond that they only organized trips to Iran for people who just observe)

Observe??!! We don’t need observers with a political agenda and hardcore chips on their shoulders against their own societies, to come into to our ravaged country to interpret the nature of our struggle! Our people get NO attention from the world media no matter how much we demonstrate our misery and what little media coverage Iran gets is riddled with the ignominious interpretations of western journalists that seriously downplay our reality to fit into their own ideological piegeonhole; the Iranian journalists who are writing for foreign press have to curb the truth so that they are not dragged of to prison… What little press Iran does get, now has to be taken over by Mr. Penn…who wants to use the backdrop of the jumble that is Iran as yet another forgettable photo op.

They continue:

Today Mr. Penn, another “novice” journalist with an agenda that’s entirely irrelevant to the reality of Iran and Iranians, is visiting Iran in a crucial moment. The last few weeks have seen an acceleration of anti-regime activities, mostly unreported by Western mainstream media.

Last week alone, prominent journalist dissident and one of the emerging leaders of the movement against the regime, Akbar Ganji, who is a political prisoner and like many other prisoners was released for a week on a medical furlough went missing; two thousand people chained themselves to the gates of his house and this went unreported by the western media. He has spent 5 years in prison for linking senior figures in the regime to the killings of journalists and intellectuals that occurred in the late 1990s.

Women’s groups lead by the beloved poetess Simin Behbahani (who is now also emerging as one of the leaders of the anti-regime movement) gathered in front of the Tehran University to protest gender apartheid and the violation of Woman and Human Rights in Iran, while denouncing the bogus National Elections that Mr. Penn is to cover for the San Francisco Chronicle.

The goal of left-wing radical groups like ANSWER and Global Exchange is to legitimize the elections in Iran as popular and fair, and to condemn the support for the anti-regime movement given by President Bush and his administration as yet another imperial attempt to expand American influence at the expense of an elected government.

Iranian bloggers and student leaders inside Iran, however, have informed us that in spite of any agenda, Mr. Penn’s presence in Iran is having the unwanted (for the actor and Global Exchange) effect of galvanizing the youth in its stance against the Mullahs. If a movie star of the caliber of Sean Penn is in Iran, the young Iranians say, this means that Iran is important, and the eyes of the world are on Tehran. This is a great chance to let the world know how despised are the ruling clerics. We can indeed expect a more frantic activity organized by the opposition movement between now and the day of the elections, even if such anti-regime endeavor won’t be reported by Mr. Penn.

As the wonderful Iranian writer, Afshin Molavi wrote in his Open Democracy blog entry on Saturday: “I wonder how Sean Penn will see things. Will he honestly portray what he sees? Or will he be blinded by his hatred of President George W. Bush to fall into the trap many a good leftist falls into: defending the Islamic Republic to take a jab at Bush. Progressives in America consistently fail to side with the forces for democracy in Iran because it might just seem too, well, Wolfowitzian or, worse, Rumsfeldian.”

In another interview, Banafsheh makes another extremely important point:

The Islamist establishment that unfortunately today governs that country is not interested in making the best possible deal with the West. It's only interest is in the destruction of the infidels and their corrupt.

I hope that Sean and his gang of terrorist supporting, dictator loving Hollywood fuckwits, the MSM elites, and all those on the LEFT, are paying attention to what the Iranian people want: FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY. Sitting down and making nicey nicey with Mullahs hellbent on destroying the infidels, which include Sean Penn and the above mentioned fuckwits, will NOT WORK. Thinking you can shake hands with terrorists and come to some kind of rational compromise speaks to the "lefts" unabashed ignorance.

Maybe the collective voices of Iranian women protesting AGAINST their subjugation by the MULLAHS, will finally break through the ignorant, myopic, cognitive dissonance that exists in the Hollywood intelligentsia, the MSM elites, and the left wing pseudo intellectual self appointed "progressives".

Battle for Fallujah

Bing West and his son, Owen, are being interviewed on Fox about their soon to be movie, "Battle for Fallujah" based on Bing's book, an account of the battle as it unfolded. Michael Shamberg is producing this film, and I like Michael, but as I said, this movie is being re written to include more KIA, and I find Hollywood's involvement to be both hypocritical and disingenous!

Bings hopes that the movie causes people to say "Holy Smokes we have great warriers, who are fighting this war on terror, and thank God we have them".

A noble sentiment, Bing, but frankly, the 52% of Americans that feel this way already, do not need a Hollywood version of a true battle that recently occured to echo those sentiments.

As for the others that disagree- this movie will only feed their "anti war, anti Bush, we should have never done what we did in Iraq, its all one big failure" feelings.

Bings intentions are honourable and understandable....but this Hollywood Refugee distrusts the all too left leaning Hollywood elites, and what they will do with this wonderful story makes me very nervous. Not to mention the idea that Hollywood community which has NEVER supported this war, and never understood the purpose, the cause, the bigger picture, would make money off the blood of these Marines, make me sick!

Having said that, and knowing this project is moving forward, I can only hope that it turns out to be a tribute of the highest honour to those Marines that fought this battle...especially those that paid the ultimate price.

Mayhem 6 and The Mad Ghosts

Moved by LtCol Smith's email expressing his frustration at the MSM constant one sided negative coverage of the war in Iraq, I sent him a MotoMail letter.

I was pleasantly surprised when I opened my email the other day, and I received a heartfelt thank you from him.

Imagine this...a Marine who puts his life on the line 24/7 in Iraq is thanking me! For MY support!
